Bill Hecht is the retired Chairman, President, and CEO of Pennsylvania Power and Light (PPL). He graduated with a BS in electrical engineering in 1964 and an MS in electrical engineering 1970. He was elected President and Chief Operating Officer of the company in 1991 and Chairman in 1993. In addition to PPL Corporation, he served on the Boards of PPL Electric Utilities Corporation and PPL Energy Supply, LLC, subsidiaries of PPL Corporation. Since his PPL retirement, Hecht ahs served as a director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. He also serves on the Board of a number of civic and charitable organizations. Hecht now sits on the board of directors DENTSPLY, the largest professional dental products company in the world.
In September 2007 Hecht was appointed co-vice chair of Lehigh's Board of trustees along with Dennis Singleton '66.
