Bob Hannan graduated from Lehigh in 1982 with a B.S. in chemical engineering. Currently he is a microfinance consultant with HelpArgentina Organization, a nonprofit "whose mission is to strengthen Argentine civil society through the mobilization of donors and volunteers and the promotion of best practices"[1]. Before joining HelpArgentina, Hannan earned an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and worked for Exxon, Merrill Lynch, and Charles Schwab.
Help Argentina Organization's microfinance program enables a poor individual with a viable business idea to receive a small loan between $50 and $250 to start or to expand a micro-enterprise. These enterprises can be any kind of business, including bakeries, carpentry, clothing repair, etc.
