Andy Greenawalt retired from Dell Computer Corporation in September, 2000 after a successful 24 year career in Information Technology.

[edit] Career
Greenawalt served for seven years in various capacities as I/T Vice President and Group CIO at Dell. During this time he managed their worldwide computing and network services, developed and maintained numerous customer facing applications, and grew their computing and communications infrastructure through a period of 10x corporate growth.
From 1991 to 1993 he was Vice President, Processing Services at the Continuum Company in Austin, TX (now CSC Financial Services), where he acted as CIO and managed the delivery of their outsourcing services to external clients. His I/T career began with Air Products and Chemicals in Allentown, PA in 1976 where he served for 15 years in several different I/T and general management roles including leading their application services function, managing their European computing network, and guiding a portion of their corporate planning process.

Andy received a MS in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University in 1976 and a BS in Mathematics from Millersville University in 1973, both with honors. He was born and raised in Pennsylvania, and currently resides in Austin, Texas with his wife of 34 years. His wife Peggy, a retired teacher and current church and community volunteer, has a MS in Reading Education from Lehigh and a BS in Elementary Education and Library from Millersville. They have two children: Danny, who is an honors (IBE) graduate of Lehigh University (’04,’05), and is currently working for InterVarsity in Reading PA; and Chrissy, who just graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University and is beginning a two year intern assignment with Reformed University Fellowship at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC.
[edit] Giving Back to the Community
Since his retirement, Andy has directed his efforts toward various personal projects, volunteer efforts, and consulting arrangements in Austin. He currently chairs the board of One World Theatre, a non profit enterprise presenting popular shows to the public and an extensive arts education outreach program in the schools. He serves on two advisory councils at the University of Texas and co-chairs a steering committee raising funding for and promoting their UTeach program, which recruits and develops math and science teachers for public schools. He is also quite active with the United Way Capital Area. In addition, his retirement allows him to vigorously pursue several hobbies including golf, cycling, skiing, and travel.
