Donald Franceschini graduated from Lehigh in 1957 with a BS in industrial engineering and later from Temple University with his M.B.A. He oversaw the $7.5-billion personal products line of Sara Lee Corp. that included Hanes, Champion, Playtex, Bali, Donna Karan and Ralph Lauren, as well as international brands marketed in 26 countries. Additionally, he oversaw the corporation's legal and human resources functions. Sara Lee Corporation is a global packaged food and consumer products company with annual sales of $20 billion.
Prior to joining Sara Lee in 1991, he was President of Playtex Apparel and a partner in the leveraged buyout of that corporation. Sara Lee acquired Playtex Apparel in 1991, at which time Franceschini was named Chief Executive Officer.
