Overview

The Lehigh Engineering Heritage Initiative (LEHI) is an online resource of, by, and for Lehigh engineers to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of alumni, faculty, and associates of Lehigh’s engineering program throughout history. It presents a compilation of stories, recollections, and images that illustrate Lehigh’s contributions to the field of engineering. Because so much of the history of Lehigh Engineering resides with alumni who have since left the walls of the University, the LEHI wiki provides the perfect tool to collect and publish this information.
Listed below are brief descriptions of some of the strategies used in organizing the LEHI wiki. Your interest and participation are greatly appreciated.

File Names

For organizational purposes, all bio file names have been structured as "Heritage, Lehigh" (LAST, FIRST). Other than the inevitable need that will arise to correct Wiki pages that are improperly named "Lehigh Heritage", this structure is a better way to present a list of names. With the proper use of categories (see below), it also allows the system to maintain a very well organized A to Z Index of pages with minimal maintenance.

Categories

Bios Category - Contains all Engineering Bio pages.

Help Category - Contains help and instructional pages.

Example: [[Category:Help|Advanced Guide]]

Although some other categories exist, the two categories above are the primary page collections.

Page Layout

A template has been built into the edit window to help beginner users design their pages in the style of existing pages on the wiki. Ideally, the pages of Packer, Asa and Packard, James Ward are good examples of how pages should be formatted.
